This policy describes only what this site genuinely uses. We do not list trackers we have not installed, and we do not install trackers this policy does not disclose.

What these technologies are

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We also use local storage, which works similarly and keeps small values on your device. Where either is used for anything beyond running the shop, it happens only after you opt in.

Categories

Strictly necessary

These make the shop work and cannot be switched off. Without them you could not stay signed in, keep a bag, or check out safely.

• Session and visitor identity. Set by the commerce platform, so your bag and session persist as you move between pages. Session-length to a few months.
• Member authentication. Set by the account platform when you sign in, so you stay signed in. Cleared when you log out.
• Security. Set by the site platform to protect against abuse and fraudulent requests.
• Your cookie choice. Stored by us in local storage as povo.consent.v1, together with the date and time, so we can honour your choice and evidence it. Kept until you change it or clear your browser data.

Functional (optional, off unless you opt in)

• Recent searches. Stored by us in local storage as povo.recent-searches so the search box can offer what you looked for last. Kept on your device until you clear it, and there is a "Clear recent searches" control in the search panel.
• Email preferences. Stored by us in local storage as povo.email-prefs so your choices persist on that device.

Analytics and performance (optional, off unless you opt in)

No analytics tool is currently installed on this site. The category exists in the banner so that if we add one later it cannot load until you have opted in, and we will name it here before it goes live.

Marketing and advertising (optional, off unless you opt in)

No advertising or retargeting pixel is currently installed on this site. As above, the category exists so that consent is gathered first and this page is updated before anything is added.

Who sets them

• Our hosting and commerce provider sets the strictly necessary cookies used by this site, the store, member accounts and checkout.
• The payment gateway used by the hosted checkout may set its own cookies on the checkout pages, for fraud prevention and to complete your payment.
• PovoAstro sets only the local storage values named above.

Third-party checkout

When you go to pay, you move to a secure hosted checkout. Cookies set there are governed by the checkout provider's and payment gateway's policies as well as this one.

Changing or withdrawing consent

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Choose Cookie settings in the footer of any page, or under Account Settings if you are signed in, and change any category. The change applies immediately. Rejecting everything optional does not stop you shopping or checking out.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, usually under Privacy or Site settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break the bag and sign in, so parts of the shop will stop working.

Consent under the DPDP Act

The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires consent to be free, specific, informed, unambiguous and as easy to withdraw as to give. Our banner is built to that standard: Accept all and Reject all carry equal weight, every optional category is off by default, and nothing optional loads until you say so.
